Gongguan Christmas Season: Free Admission for the December 21 Music Concert Join Us for a Celebration of Brass, Ballet, and Timeless Melodies

The "2024 Gongguan Christmas Season" at the Taipei Water Park reaches its crescendo this Saturday, December 21, with the much-anticipated "Encounter at the Museum of Drinking Water: Centennial Melody Christmas Concert." Coinciding with the Winter Solstice, the event offers free admission, complimentary hot beverages and a special activity where guests can enjoy traditional tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) after completing a brief survey. Revel in the enchanting atmosphere, enjoy live music, capture stunning photos and embrace the warmth of Christmas beside the century-old historic Museum of Drinking Water. The highly anticipated concert continues its cherished tradition, with Professor Yeh Shu-han leading the National Taiwan Normal University Wind Band in a captivating performance. Residents are warmly invited to the Taipei Water Park to share in the joy and festive spirit of a heartwarming Christmas celebration!


Now in its 14th year, the Gongguan Christmas Season has become a beloved event, with the Museum of Drinking Water adorned in stunning lights and a cozy holiday atmosphere that draws countless visitors to create beautiful memories. This year marks a special debut for the "Azalea Direct Drinking Fountain," unveiled during the concert. Innovatively designed by the Taipei Water Department, it features the iconic azalea, Taipei’s city flower and incorporates accessibility-friendly elements, green energy, carbon reduction, and sustainability, showcasing a commitment to eco-conscious living and environmental stewardship.


This year’s Christmas concert brings extra excitement with a lively performance led by children’s favorite "Bubble Brother" and "Bubble Hero," engaging audiences with energetic dance-along activities, while a magician dazzles with a mesmerizing magic show. The grand finale begins at 5:30 PM, with Professor Yeh Shu-Han and the National Taiwan Normal University Wind Band delivering a stellar performance themed You Who Came from the Stars. The concert features music inspired by the cosmos, the festive season, and the wonders of Christmas, paired with a breathtaking ballet performance in a stunning collaboration of music and dance.


Starting from 2 PM, the lively festivities expand beyond the stage with over 50 interactive booths, a bustling Comma Market and food trucks offering a diverse and vibrant experience. This year, the event partners with LEGO® DUPLO® to create a parent-child interactive area where families can learn and play together. The day’s highlights include giveaways of grand prizes from the Gongguan Shopping District and the announcement of the Flow of Creativity: Painting a Sustainable Future painting exhibition's most popular award. With a lineup of joyful and heartwarming activities, the event promises an unforgettable celebration of Christmas cheer and togetherness.
