Taipei Water Festival Launched: Mayor Chiang and Citizens Enjoy Some Water Fun!

After a two-year hiatus, the Taipei Water Festival officially returned today (7/1) at the Taipei Water Park. Mayor Chiang Wan-an attended the opening ceremony in casual attire and even picked up a water gun to join the children and everyone present in shouting, "Summer 123, Water Fun Let’s GO!"

Mayor Chiang noted that the Taipei Water Festival is an iconic summer event in the city that has been held since 2004; this year marks the 18th edition since the launch of the first event. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taipei Water Festival was canceled in the previous two years, therefore its return this year has been warmly welcomed by citizens of all ages. Furthermore, Mayor Chiang joined "Suiwukong", the mascot of the Taipei Water Department, and called on citizens to conserve water resources to ensure water security for all!

According to the Taipei Water Department (TWD), as of 16:00 today, the number of admissions to the Taipei Water Park has exceeded over 6,000 visitors. In addition to free admission during the opening of the park today and tomorrow, a series of activities and a large inflatable water slide are available during the Taipei Water Festival (7/1 to 8/27). Lifeguards are stationed, and water quality monitoring and regular water changes are all carried out on site to ensure safety. Admission tickets for the Taipei Water Park are NT$80 and discounted concession tickets at NT$40 during Summer (July and August). In addition to enjoying water activities, visitors can also explore historical sites and hidden gems such as the "Museum of Drinking Water" and the "Guanyinshan Reservoir".
