2024 ChillOut Festival Draws Massive Crowd in Gongguan

The 2024 ChillOut Festival is taking over Gongguan this weekend (September 28-29), drawing thousands of music lovers. Organized by Taipei Water Department and PIPE Live House, in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development, Hydraulic Engineering Office, Department of Commerce, and EasyCard Corporation, along with local Gongguan business organizations, the festival features six free stages and three ticketed ones, spread across the Gongguan Shopping District, Taipei Water Park, Waterfront Plaza, and Guting Riverside Park. With over 100 artists performing, the ChillOut Festival is expected to deliver the ultimate weekend music experience in southern Taipei, attracting more than 10,000 attendees on the first day to groove to the beats and embrace the youthful energy.

According to the Taipei Water Department, the ChillOut Festival is now in its 5th year, originally started as a grassroots initiative. It has since become a signature event for Gongguan and a key annual music celebration for southern Taipei. This year's 2024 ChillOut Festival is a joint collaboration between the Taipei Water Department, PIPE Live House, the Department of Economic Development, the Hydraulic Engineering Office, the Office of Commerce, EasyCard Corporation, and various local organizations like the NTU Gongguan Shopping District Development Promotion Association, NTU Gongguan Shopping District Association, Shuiyuan Market Self-Governing Association, and Gongguan Night Market Self-Governing Association. Public and private entities joined forces to expand the event, with the city government funding three large free stages, while private organizers set up three ticketed stages and three smaller free stages, making for a total of nine stages. This musical carnival is bringing together performers from Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Hong Kong, featuring relaxed, chill music styles, along with Taiwan’s top-notch local artists. The event aims to establish a sophisticated and high-quality music festival as a signature brand of Taipei's urban scene.

The Taipei Water Department noted that Commissioner Chao Shih-lung of the Department of Information Technology, Director Kao Chen-yuan of the Office of Commerce, Director Wu Chiu-hsiang of the Hydraulic Engineering Office, local shopping district association chairpersons, and Commissioner Fan Huan-ying of the Taipei Water Department all attended today's event at the "Autumn Chill" free main stage. They enjoyed the autumnal music vibe with the audience. This event not only showcased the soft power of southern Taipei’s music culture but also successfully established a "1+1>2" collaborative model, creating a win-win-win scenario for government agencies, local shopping district associations, and performance groups. The 2024 ChillOut Festival is set to reach its climax tomorrow, and we invite those who couldn’t make it today to come and enjoy the chill vibes in Gongguan!
