As the Christmas season approaches, the annual extravaganza in the Gongguan area of Taipei City, the 2023 Gongguan Christmas Season, kicks off early this year at the end of November. The water park is adorned with meticulously arranged festive flowers and lighting installations, including a stunning 15-meter tall bald cypress Christmas tree. The treetops glow with beautiful lights in the night, complementing the "Moonlight Falls" at the landscape pool and the "Open Heart" installation in front of the museum. The Taipei Water Department expresses that this year marks the 13th edition of the Gongguan Christmas Season, themed "Water Park Hymns Peace." On the opening day, November 25, park entry is free, accompanied by an "Outdoor Music Bar" featuring street performers singing in three sessions at 10 am, 2 pm and 5 pm. 300 cups of hot drinks will be distributed to warm the hearts of visitors exploring the park. The Taipei Water Department adds that the lineup of activities during this Christmas season is exceptional. In addition to the opening day festivities, visitors purchasing tickets during the event period will receive discount vouchers for Gongguan's shopping district, which includes over 80 night market stalls and nearly a hundred shops and snack vendors. The park is also collaborating with the Department of Information and Tourism's "Christmas Love Unlimited" campaign, offering chances to win various grand prizes such as PS5, iPad 10, and capsule coffee machines with purchases over a hundred, enhancing the chances of early bird shoppers to win!

The Taipei Water Department explains that the "2023 Gongguan Christmas Season" lasts for 5 weeks, with the park closed on Mondays. On other operating days, the park remains open until 8 pm (ticket sales and entry until 7 pm). Furthermore, the most popular and quickly booked guided tour, the hidden gem known as the "Guanyinshan Reservoir," with its underground water palace, will have special Christmas sessions added.
