2025 ChillOut Festival Draws Thousands to 8 Stages Across Southern Taipei Mayor Chiang Joins the Crowd to “Chill the City!”
The 2025 ChillOut Festival is in full swing this weekend (October 11 and 12) in the Gongguan area of southern Taipei, transforming the area into a city-wide celebration of music and creativity. With four free stages and four ticketed stages set up across the Gongguan shopping district, Taipei Water Park, Riverside Plaza, and Treasure Hill riverside greens, nearly 100 domestic and international acts are bringing the most chill holiday music experience to southern Taipei. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, who attended the opening, said the event combines local music venues and diverse Taiwanese bands while welcoming international performers to share the stage. “This is Taipei’s most convenient and most chill urban music festival,” he remarked, noting that the festival builds on the success of the earlier Trendy Taipei events, filling October with the sound of music and youthful energy. The Taipei Water Department noted that this year marks the sixth edition of the ChillOut Festival and the second year of expanded public-private collaboration. The event has become a signature music celebration for Gongguan and southern Taipei. Jointly organized by the Taipei Water Department, PIPE Live House, Department of Economic Development, Department of Youth, Hydraulic Engineering Office, Office of Commerce, EasyCard Corporation, and multiple local business and market associations, the festival showcases Taipei’s urban brand of refined, high-quality music culture. On the opening day, the festival drew over 10,000 attendees, gathering music lovers from across the city to enjoy the autumn rhythms. Distinguished guests included Mayor Chiang Wan-an, City Councilor Kuo Chao-yen, Department of Information Technology Commissioner Chao Shih-lung, Taipei City Office of Commerce Director Kao Chen-yuan, Hydraulic Engineering Office Director Chang Kai-yao, borough chiefs, representatives from business associations, and Taipei Water Department Commissioner Fan Huan-ying—all joining festivalgoers at the “Autumn Blessings” Stage to chill to the music together. The 2025 ChillOut Festival continues tomorrow (October 12) with another day of vibrant performances and lively market events.
