Christmas Concert at Taipei Water Park Offers Free Admission on December 21 Snoopy and Timeless Music Bring Warmth to the Holiday Season
The Gongguan Christmas Season at Taipei Water Park will culminate in its most anticipated finale, the Christmas Concert from the “Winter Fantasia” series. Led by Professor Shu-Han Yeh, the NTNU Wind Band will present a program of powerful and timeless music. To encourage public participation, admission to Taipei Water Park will be free on December 21, inviting visitors to spend a festive holiday with family and friends. Guests are welcome to stroll through the park, take photos with Snoopy, Woodstock, and romantic Christmas light installations, and enjoy the concert’s warm melodies while celebrating the most heartwarming moments of the year. According to the Taipei Water Department, stage performances will begin at 4:00 p.m., opening with interactive singing and dancing led by the popular MOMO Family, beloved by children and parents alike. This will be followed by performances from the NTNU Wind Band and Choir, featuring this year’s theme, “The Grasslands of Central Asia.” The program evokes natural imagery such as auroras, volcanoes, and typhoons, while incorporating engaging explanations of related scientific concepts, offering audiences an enriching experience that blends music and knowledge. In addition to the concert, the venue will host a lively Christmas market, featuring popular Gongguan Night Market snacks and specialty vendors offering fried chicken, shumai, cotton candy, waffles, and more. A variety of interactive cultural activities will also be available, including a water conservation promotion vehicle, Hakka cultural DIY workshops, and an anti-corruption pitching game. As the event coincides with the Winter Solstice, Taipei Water Park will provide free hot beverages at the concert venue, and visitors who complete designated tasks will be able to redeem complimentary tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), ensuring a warm and festive experience on this traditional holiday. The Taipei Water Department further noted that this year’s Gongguan Christmas Season is held in collaboration with 114 local businesses from the Gongguan shopping district and night market. Special shopping district discount vouchers are available, allowing visitors to enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment as they explore the park and surrounding area. In addition, shoppers who make purchases in the shopping district and complete the required steps may enter a lucky draw. The first round of winners was announced on December 17 via the Taipei Water Park Facebook fan page, with awards to be presented at the concert on December 21. The second round of the draw will continue through December 31, offering visitors another chance to win prizes, including the limited-edition “Museum of Drinking Water × Snoopy” co-branded gift set. This year’s romantic Christmas lighting displays, along with Snoopy and Woodstock figures, have become popular photo spots, attracting families, couples, and visitors daily. Since the launch of the event on November 29, the park has welcomed more than 36,000 visitors. Through the Gongguan Christmas Season, the Taipei Water Department hopes to connect culture, the arts, and local commerce, working together with the city government to create one of Taipei’s most charming winter events. Members of the public are warmly invited to visit Gongguan during the event period and experience the city’s most enchanting Christmas atmosphere.
