"Endless Flow! 2025 Cypher Tournament" Countdown Begins First-Ever Public Jury Announced, Prizes for Finalists Get a Major Boost
With just one month left to submit entries for the "Endless Flow! 2025 Cypher Tournament", an interschool hip-hop creation contest, a brand-new initiative is making waves: the launch of the first-ever Public Jury Program. This program invites listeners who are passionate, knowledgeable, or experienced in hip-hop to serve as judges in the finals and vote live for the coveted “Best Performance Award.” To encourage student artists to take their first step into music creation, a renowned German professional audio brand has stepped in to sponsor exclusive finalist prizes. Contestants who make it to the finals will receive Bluetooth headphones and speakers valued between NT$7,000 and NT$16,000, along with the opportunity to perform on the professional stage at the 2025 ChillOut Festival. The online preliminaries for the Endless Flow! 2025 Cypher Tournament are now in full swing. With students showcasing their creativity and energy, the competition has even attracted attention from global audio brands. In addition to the original prize pool, the top three individual performers will each receive a set of AMIRON100 true wireless Bluetooth earphones (worth NT$8,000). For the Cypher group category, teams placing 4th to 7th in the online preliminaries will receive SPACE premium Bluetooth speakers (worth nearly NT$7,000), while the top three teams will win AVENTHO300 flagship over-ear Bluetooth headphones (worth NT$16,000). According to the organizer, the Taipei Water Department, the newly introduced Public Jury initiative aims to invite more hip-hop lovers to be part of this cultural celebration. Each jury member will cast their votes on the day of the finals, selecting their top three favorite Cypher teams. The team with the highest number of votes will be awarded the Best Performance Award, which includes a NT$30,000 cash prize and an Acoustic Empire G87 condenser microphone valued at NT$15,000. All jury members will also receive a two-day pass to the 2025 ChillOut Festival, celebrating the moment together with the winning teams. The Taipei Water Department explained that the online preliminaries rank entries based on YouTube view counts of original music videos. The top 10 teams in the group category will each receive a NT$15,000 Creative Incentive Award, and the first-place team will earn an additional NT$30,000 Best Popularity Award. In the individual category, the top three participants will be awarded NT$10,000, NT$7,000, and NT$5,000, respectively, as Online Popularity Awards. All finalists will take the stage for a live performance at the grand finals on April 26, showcasing their work to a live audience. Taipei Water Department Commissioner Fan Huan-ying emphasized that this year’s theme, “Rap for the Planet – Be Like Water,” symbolizes the limitless possibilities of artistic creation—fluid, adaptable, and free from rigid boundaries. Inspired by Bruce Lee’s philosophy of water—both soft and strong, shapeless yet powerful—the competition encourages young artists to reflect on humanity’s relationship with nature and respond to the urgent challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability through their music. Fan further noted that the Endless Flow! 2025 Cypher Tournament is more than just a competition; it is a creative engine designed to inspire students to take their first step in music-making. Students from hip-hop clubs across all levels are warmly invited to participate, and music fans are encouraged to support these powerful, positive creations by streaming and sharing the entries online—amplifying student voices and celebrating the energy of youth through music.
